Overview

This standard is about conforming edited work to the highest quality version during post production. It includes converting all media to match final sequence settings.

This standard should apply to anyone who is involved with conforming visual content.

 

Performance Criteria 

You must be able to:

  1. identify the work to be carried out from reliable sources
  2. agree the schedule and time to be spent on conforming visual content with relevant people
  3. identify techniques to use to achieve required deliverables
  4. conform edited work to the highest-quality version of the original source media available
  5. conform high resolution media to match offline edit
  6. make sure all clips match final sequence settings and meets required technical standards
  7. maintain security for files and other materials in line with legal and organisational requirements
  8. complete documentation in line with legal and organisational requirements

 

Knowledge and understanding

You need to know and understand:  

  1. sources of information on the work to be carried out
  2. software operation for conforming visual content
  3. where to find Lookup Tables (LUTs) and how to apply LUTs to raw footage
  4. the effect that converting clips to match final sequence settings can have on programme outputs
  5. how to communicate on technical matters to others with less technical understanding than you
  6. costing and time estimation for work
  7. the importance of working to a deadline and budget
  8. statutory regulation and viewing standards that apply to content delivery
  9. national and international best practice for content delivery across different platforms
  10. legal and organisational requirements for storage, back up and security of files and other materials
